About Me
I've been drawing since sixth grade. I've been writing for even longer. If there's two things I've learned in all that time, it's that you're better than you think you are and there's always something else to learn.
As an artist, I have experience in both traditional mediums - including watercolor, acrylic paint, oil pastels, and graphite - and digital mediums, particularly Photoshop and InDesign; this is thanks to my high school's ArtsTech program, which offered students a rounded education in various forms of visual and multimedia art. I like drawing people in digital mediums, but I have a special fondness for landscapes - particularly in traditional mediums.
As a writer, I have written in many genres - particularly fantasy, historical fiction, science fiction, and fantasy - but I also have experience with nonfiction and analytical work. My personal style favors concise, evocative prose and snappy dialogue, allowing the reader to fill in the blanks in the background but fleshing out the characters and immediate world as much as possible.
Over the years, I have learned how to merge both of my passions. Each piece of work tells a story, and every story is written with the principles of visual art as well as storytelling in mind. Color association is a common technique, but keeping the scene balanced and rhythmic - both principles of visual art - helps the reader visualize the scene.
